Officiating & Appeals
Chief Arbiter: Mr. S. Athulan, FI & IA
Appeals Committee: Formed prior to the tournament from senior participants present at the players' meeting. Decisions are final and binding.
Protests: Must be submitted in writing within 15 minutes of the incident, along with a protest fee of ₹1,000. The fee will be refunded if the appeal is upheld.
General Information & Instructions
Last Date for Entries: Closes at 5:00 PM on September 15, 2026.
Withdrawals: Players may withdraw at any stage by informing the Chief Arbiter in writing.
Wristwatches: Strictly prohibited inside the playing hall for all FIDE-rated events. Players must not wear any kind of wristwatch while playing.
Rights of Admission: Reserved by AICF, TNSCA, Chennai DCA, and CAPA Chess Academy (Organizer).

TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS
Tournament Structure & Gameplay
System of Play: Conducted as per the latest FIDE Rules in force using the Swiss system.
Time Control: 30 minutes each + 30 seconds increment per move starting from move 1.
Default Time: 15 minutes. A player arriving at the board after the default time shall lose the game.
Tie-Break: Buchholz tie-break system will be applied. In case of a tie, prizes will not be shared.
Player Registrations (2026–2027)
AICF Player Registration:
Fee: ₹300 per year (Mandatory for Indian players).
Online Process: Registrations are accepted online only and must be completed prior to the tournament. Prepare a scanned passport-size photo (JPEG format, under 1 MB), a birth certificate, and a unique email address.

TNSCA Player Registration:
Fee: ₹150 per year (Mandatory for Tamil Nadu players).
Online Process: Registrations must be completed online before the event. Prepare a scanned passport-size photo (JPEG format, under 1 MB), a birth certificate, and a valid email address.
