Tournament Info
The 6th SSS International Open FIDE Rated Chess Tournament is organized by the Sri Sai Saravanaa Academy (affiliated with the Pudukkottai District Chess Association). The event will take place from 10th September to 14th September 2026 at the Chendhuran College of Engineering and Technology, Lenavilakku, Pudukkottai.

Prizes: Total cash prize pool of ₹4,01,000/- across 96 cash prize categories and 43 trophies.
Categories: Open category prizes, rating-based categories (1600–1750, 1500–1599, 1400–1499, and Unrated), age-group categories (Under-08, Under-10, Under-12, Under-16), Best Pudukkottai Player, Best Women, Best Veteran, and Physically Challenged players. All Under-08 players receive a medal, and all participants receive an e-certificate.
Entry Fee: ₹2,000/- (50% discount for CFRD players).
Entry Deadline: 07th September 2026.
Terms & Conditions
System of Play: The latest FIDE Rules in force apply, played under the Swiss System across 9 rounds.
Time Control: 90 minutes each with a 30-second increment per move starting from move one.
Tie Break: In case of a tie, the latest FIDE tie-break rules come into effect; cash prizes will not be shared.
Mandatory Registrations:
AICF Registration: Mandatory for all players (₹300/- for the year 2026–2027) via online mode before the event.
TNSCA Registration: Compulsory for all Tamil Nadu players (₹150/- for the year 2026–2027).
PDCA Registration: Mandatory for Pudukkottai district players (₹75/-).
Protests & Appeals: Protests against the decision of the Chief Arbiter must be submitted in writing with a protest fee of ₹1,000/- within 15 minutes of the round’s completion. The fee is refunded if the appeal is upheld. The Appeals Committee's decision is final and binding.
Withdrawals: Players may withdraw at any stage after informing the Chief Arbiter in writing.
Electronic Devices: Wristwatches are strictly banned while playing, per AICF regulations.
Accommodation & Logistics:
Free unfurnished dormitory-type accommodation is provided for players only (limited to 150 persons on a first-come, first-served basis; players must bring their own bedding).
Accompanying persons may stay for ₹500 per head for 5 days (limit 1 accompanying person).
Mixed genders are strictly prohibited from staying together (girls stay only with ladies, boys only with gents).
Rights of Admission: The AICF, TNSCA, PDCA, and Organizer reserve the right of admission to the venue.
