Tournament Description

The 1st Rotaract RUAS x Children Chess Academy presents All India Open FIDE Rated Rapid Chess Tournament 2026 is a one-day national-level chess tournament scheduled for September 20, 2026, at Dwaraka Auditorium, M. S. Ramaiah Campus, Bengaluru.

Event Approvals & Codes: AICF Event Code: 490593/KA(R)/2026, KSCA Event Code: KSCA/G070/2627/A, BUDCA Event Code: BUDCA/G034/2627.

Prize Pool: ₹3,00,000 total cash prize pool.

Open Category: ₹1,63,000 awarded across the Top 50 ranks (1st: ₹25,000, 2nd: ₹16,500, 3rd: ₹12,000).

Rating Categories: ₹1,20,000 across 5 rating bands (Unrated, 1401–1500, 1501–1600, 1601–1700, 1701–1800) with Top 10 awarded in each category (₹24,000 per category).

Special Cash Prizes: ₹17,000 across Best Women (Top 3), Best Veteran (Top 3), Best Physically Challenged (₹2,500), and Best Visually Challenged (₹2,500).

Age Categories (U7, U9, U11, U13, U16): 50 Trophies & 50 Medals awarded separately for boys and girls (Top 10 in each), plus participation trophies for all participants.

Entry Fees: Early Bird: ₹1,399 (valid till 20 August 2026); Regular Entry: ₹1,500 (21 August to 16 September 2026). Free entry for GMs, IMs, WGMs, and WIMs.

Terms & Conditions

Format & Time Control: 9-round Swiss System conducted under FIDE Laws with a time control of 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move from move 1.

Mandatory Registrations: AICF ID registration is mandatory for all players, and KSCA ID is mandatory for Karnataka-based players.

Entry & Refund Policy: Entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Spot entries are strictly prohibited.

Electronics & Venue Discipline: Carrying bags, mobile phones, wristwatches, or other electronic devices into the playing arena is strictly forbidden.

Prize Rules: Players qualifying for more than one prize category will only receive the higher prize. Attendance at the prize distribution ceremony is mandatory to claim prizes, or the prize will be forfeited.

Appeals & Protests: Any protest against the Chief Arbiter’s decision must be submitted in writing with a ₹1,000 protest fee within 10 minutes of the incident to the five-member Appeal Committee (refunded if upheld).

Withdrawals: Players may withdraw at any round only after providing written notice to the Chief Arbiter.

Equipment & Certificates: Chess sets and clocks will be provided to all participants. All registered players will receive an official E-Certificate. Boarding and lodging are not provided.
