Tournament Description

The 11th Chessmii International Below 1700 FIDE Rated Chess Tournament – 2026 is organized by Chessmii.com and Chessmii School of Chess, approved by FIDE, AICF, CAK, and ECA (AICF Event Code: 469820/KL/2026).

Dates & Venue: October 16 to 18, 2026, held at the Nava Nirman Silver Jubilee Indoor Stadium, Vazhakkala, Kakkanad, Ernakulam, Kerala.

Prize Pool: Total prize fund of ₹6,00,000 featuring 180 total prizes (cash prizes, trophies, and medals). Categories include Main Open, Rating bands (0–1550, 0–1450, Unrated), Age categories (Under 07, 09, 11, 13, 15, 17), Best Academy, Best Veteran (55+), Best Woman (18+), and Best Divyang.

Format: 9-round FIDE Swiss System with a classical time control of 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move starting from move 1.

Eligibility & Registration: Open to all players with a valid FIDE ID. Indian participants must possess a valid AICF registration for FY 2026–2027, and Kerala participants require active CAK registration for 2026. Registrations are accepted exclusively via Chessmii.com; no spot entries will be entertained.

Default Time: Walk-over time is 15 minutes from the start of the round.

Tie-Break Rules: Tie-breaks will follow Buchholz Cut 1, Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger, Direct Encounter, Greater number of wins (including forfeits), and Number of wins with Black pieces.

Prizes & Tax: A player is eligible for only one higher prize. Valid proof of age/identity is mandatory for category awards. Presence at the prize distribution ceremony is compulsory to claim prizes. Cash prizes will be credited via the Chessmii.com wallet on or before October 21, 2026, and are subject to Indian Income Tax rules (Section 194B).

Electronics & Conduct: Electronic devices, including mobile phones and all types of wristwatches, are strictly prohibited inside the playing arena.

Appeals & Protests: Protests must be submitted in writing within 15 minutes of the incident alongside a protest fee of ₹5,000 (refundable only if the appeal is upheld). The Appeals Committee's verdict is final and binding.

Refund Policy: Cancellation requests must be made through Chessmii.com. Full refund until 14-09-2026; 70% refund until 15-09-2026; 50% refund until 16-09-2026; 30% refund until 17-09-2026. No refunds are issued after 17-09-2026 or for players failing to complete valid AICF/CAK registrations. Transaction charges apply.

Media & Discretion: Registration implies consent to event photography and video recording for media purposes. Organizers retain the right to accept or reject entries without stating a reason and may adjust regulations or schedules with association approval. Organizers hold no responsibility for travel or lodging arrangements.
