Terms & Conditions

System of Play: Conducted under the FIDE Swiss System in accordance with the latest FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Rapid Chess Regulations across 9 rounds.

Time Control: 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move starting from move 1.

Tie Break: Buchholz Cut 1, Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger, Direct Encounter, Number of Wins (including wins by forfeit), and Number of Wins with Black.

Mandatory Registrations:

AICF Registration: Active AICF registration for 2026–2027 is compulsory for all Indian players. (If recently registered and pending activation, proof of payment receipt must be produced).

CAK Registration: Chess Association Kerala (CAK) registration for 2026 is compulsory for all Kerala players.

Electronic Devices: Wristwatches of any type and all electronic devices are strictly prohibited in the playing hall; violation may result in loss of the game.

Protests & Appeals: Written protests against an arbiter's decision must be lodged within 10 minutes of the incident with a protest fee of ₹1,000/-. The Appeals Committee's decision will be final and binding.

Withdrawals: Players may withdraw at any stage by informing the Chief Arbiter in writing.

Prize Payouts: Prize money of ₹10,000/- and above will be transferred to winners via bank transfer within 7 working days after the event.

Spot Entries: Strictly no spot entries will be accepted.

Age Verification: Valid proof of date of birth must be produced upon request for age-category prizes.

Rights: The organizers reserve the right to accept/reject entries and modify tournament regulations or schedule if necessary.
