Accommodation & Food

Free Accommodation: Unfurnished hostel-type shared dormitory accommodation is provided at the venue for players and accompanying persons (separate rooms for male and female players; participants must bring their own bedding).

Terms & Conditions

Rules of Play: The latest FIDE Rules in force shall apply, and the Swiss system will be followed for all 9 rounds.

Tie-Break: Buchholz tie-break system will be applied. In case of a tie, cash prizes will not be shared.

Default Time: The default time is 30 minutes from the scheduled start of the round. Players arriving after the default time will forfeit their game.

Mandatory Registrations:

AICF Registration: Mandatory for all Indian players for the year 2026–2027 (Fee: ₹300/- online via aicf.in).

TNSCA Registration: Compulsory for all Tamil Nadu players for the year 2026–2027 (Fee: ₹150/- via registration.tamilchess.com).

KKDCA Registration: Compulsory for Kanyakumari District players for the year 2026–2027 (Fee: ₹75/-).

Protests & Appeals: Protests against an arbiter's decision must be submitted in writing with a protest fee of ₹500/- within 15 minutes of the incident to the Appeals Committee. The fee will be refunded if the appeal is upheld. The Appeals Committee’s decision will be final and binding.

Electronic Gadgets & Watches: In accordance with AICF regulations, all wristwatches and electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the tournament playing hall.

Withdrawals: Players may withdraw at any stage of the tournament only after submitting written notification to the Chief Arbiter.

Tax Regulations: Indian Income Tax regulations will be applicable to all cash prizes.

Rights of Admission: AICF, TNSCA, KKDCA, and the tournament organizer Dragon Chess Academy reserve the right of admission to the venue.
