Terms & Conditions

Rules & System: The latest FIDE Rapid Rules in force shall apply and the Swiss System will be followed with a total of 9 rounds.

Time Control & Default Time: 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment from Move 1. Default time is 10 minutes from the scheduled start of the round.

Mandatory Registrations:

AICF registration for 2026-2027 is compulsory for all Indian players.

TNSCA registration for 2026-2027 is compulsory for all Tamil Nadu players.

KDCA player registration (₹75) is mandatory for Karur District players.

Tie Breaks: Buchholz Cut 1, Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger, Direct Encounter, Number of Wins (including forfeit), and Number of Wins with Black pieces. Prizes will not be shared.

Electronic Devices: Wristwatches and any electronic devices (including mobile phones) are strictly prohibited inside the playing hall.

Protests: Any protest against the Chief Arbiter’s decision must be made in writing within 15 minutes of the incident, along with a protest fee of ₹500. The fee will be refunded if the appeal is upheld.

Cash Prize Distribution: Prize money will be distributed strictly by CASH.

Age Proof: A valid birth certificate is compulsory for claiming category prizes.

Withdrawals: Players may withdraw at any stage only after informing the Chief Arbiter in writing.

Hall Discipline: Strict silence must be observed; players finished with their games must leave the playing area and avoid analyzing games inside the hall. Smoking is strictly prohibited within the school campus.

Admission: The organizers, AICF, TNSCA, and KDCA reserve the right of admission. Strictly no spot entries.
